University of Ottawa hosting in-person convocation ceremonies

For the first time since 2019, officials of the University of Ottawa will be holding in-person convocation ceremonies.
Fourteen ceremonies between June 6 and June 10, 2022 covering three cohorts of students from the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 will be held at the Shaw Centre.
The university will award honorary doctorates to nine recipients:
- Dr. Vera Etches
- Edith Cloutier
- The Honourable Michèle Audette
- Dr. Jerome Bickenbach
- The Honourable A. Anne McLellan
- Dr. Molly Shoichet
- Mamokgethi Phakeng
- Julia Elvidge
- Paul C. Genest
Masks will be mandatory at Convocation ceremonies. There will be a ceremony live stream for family and friends who wish to watch remotely.
The university will also award posthumous degrees to the families of Alma Oladi, who died aboard Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752, and student-athlete Francis Perron, who died unexpectedly in September.
