The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has issued an arrest warrant for a 28-year-old man from the Gatineau area for uttering death threats in Ottawa's east end on June 8.

At roughly 9:30 a.m. on the 6500 block of Renaud Road, a man received death threats from an acquaintance and evidence led OPS officers to believe the threats were serious in nature and required the public to be notified.

Cederick Richard-Soares, 28, is described as a Caucasian man, 5'6″, athletic build and sleeve tattoos on both arms and a neck tattoo.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy tank top, blue jean shorts, and a grey baseball cap. He is carrying a satchel, and possibly is a passenger in a silver Chrysler 200 with Québec plates driven by a woman. He is believed to be in Ottawa or Gatineau.

He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPS east criminal investigations unit at 613-236-1222, extension 3566. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca
