Arrest made in connection to May homicide of Gatineau man

Gatineau police have made an arrest in connection to the homicide of a man that happened in the Aylmer sector in May.

On May 28, 22-year-old Trevor Turner was found “seriously injured” in the upper body in front of 51 Court Street just before 2 a.m.

Cops say they arrested 19-year-old Malcolm Smith, a resident of Kitigan Zibi, on Wednesday, June 22 around 2 p.m. in the Gatineau area.

He did not resist arrest.

Smith will appear in a Quebec courtroom on Thursday, June 23 to answer a charge of accessory after the fact to manslaughter.

Police say that on the night of the incident, the victim was lying outside a business when police arrived.

However, Turner died of his injuries caused by a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected to follow.
