A popular Canada Day event has been cancelled.
The Royal Canadian Air Force tweeted on June 30 that there will be now fly over by Canadian Forces Snowbirds at noon for the July 1 celebrations in the capital.
“This was a tough decision, but after not flying for a period to time, the team must conduct several practice flights and our technicians need to conduct some maintenance work on the jets,” the tweet said.
The next planned show is July 9 and July 10 July in Kelowna, British Columbia.
The silver lining is that the team has been cleared to fly, but now must return to home base in Moose Jaw in order to prepare for future airshows.
