Police investigating shooting in west end

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating a shooting that took place in the city's west end on July 6.

In a Tweet sent just after 1:30 p.m. today, the OPS said the incident took place in the 100 block of Ritchie Street near Britannia Park.

Paramedics received a call at 1:10 p.m. and an adult male was being treated for injuries consistent with a gunshot. He was taken to a trauma centre in serious condition.

The public is asked to avoid the area.

Officers are responding to a shooting incident in the 100 block of Ritchie St involving injuries.
