Section of Champlain Lookout to be temporarily closed starting Aug. 15

By CityNews Ottawa

The National Capital Commission (NCC) announced on Aug. 11 that a section of the Champlain Parkway, between the the Étienne Brûlé Lookout and the Champlain Lookout, will be closed on weekdays to all traffic  for approximately four weeks starting on Aug. 15.

During this time, access to the Champlain Lookout and to the Champlain Parkway will not be available by road or through trails. On weekends, they will reopen to active users, motor vehicles and the Gatineau Park shuttle, following the Gatineau Park parkways schedule

This closure is required to complete landscaping work at the Champlain Lookout. A section of the work area will be fenced in for the duration of the work.

The NCC is urging all users to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage on-site.
