OPP officers seize nearly $160K in drugs, paraphernalia in Casselman

Members of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) assisted by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Canine Unit executed two search warrants in Casselman.

On Aug. 11, an individual was arrested, and a warrant resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking. The OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit is also assisting with this investigation.

The seizure resulted in a quantity of suspected cannabis and cannabis related products, with an estimated street value of over $157,000.

Jeffrey Lamoureux. 37, of Casselman, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of distributing(two counts)
  • Cultivate, propagate or harvest a cannabis plant that is from seed or plant material that is illicit cannabis (or offer to do so) (two counts)
  • Cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants (two counts)
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on Sept. 14.
