Former nurse in need of living liver donor
A former nurse who contacted Hepatitis C from an accidental needle stick is searching for a living liver donor who can help her from organ failure.
Pam Hopkins-Dargavel worked as a nurse at the Ottawa Hospital in 1990 when when she accidentally stuck a needle through her hand while working with a young hemophiliac who had acquired Hepatitis C.
Hopkins-Dargavel was later diagnosed with Hepatitis C that resulted in severe damage to her liver.

Greg Dargavel, the husband of the nurse, told The Sam Laprade Show on Aug. 29 that his wife is in need of a liver transplant to save her life from organ failure. He said they are hopeful to find a donor with O or B blood types.
If there's other people that get hold of the story and think they can be helpful to some other person and if this scores a liver for somebody else on the transplant list, that's a great result,” he said.
