Upper Valley OPP RIDE program week one results

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) 2022 Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign started on Nov. 17, 2022 and continues until Jan. 2, 2023.

During the first week of the campaign officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP conducted 24 RIDE checks throughout the area. 

A 46-year-old resident of Laurentian Valley Township (LVTP) is facing charges after a RIDE check in the city of Pembroke on the afternoon of Nov. 23. The driver was taken into custody and police also seized a quantity of cannabis.

As a result of this investigation Adam Earl Saar offences:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 17, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

A 42-year-old resident of Chapeau, Québec has been charged after police responded to a report of possible impaired driver in the parking lot of business on Pembroke Street East in LVTP.

Polin Dubrovina has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 31, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

A 48-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged after an early morning traffic stop in the city of Pembroke on Nov. 20. 

As a result of this investigation Craig Boucher offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 10, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

A 31-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged after a traffic stop in the city of Pembroke on the evening of Nov. 20, 2022. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. 

As a result of this investigation John Evans has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 10, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

A 66-year-old individual from Head, Clara and Maria Township is facing charges after a vehicle left the roadway and came to rest on the lawn of a residence in Whitewater Region Township. The incident took place on the evening of Nov. 21, 2022. 

As a result of this investigation Deborah Charbonneau has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 3, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
