Ottawa emergency crews helped a crane operator who was suffering a medical emergency at a job site in Ottawa's west end on Dec. 9.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received a call from paramedics requesting a rope rescue team after it was reported that a crane operator, who was 100 feet in the air at the site on Central Park Drive just off Merivale Road, was in distress.

Crews were able to get the individual, a 35 year-old woman, on the ground safely and she was taken to hospital.
