The Montfort Hospital's emergency department reached (ED) 'unprecedented levels' this past weekend, and things aren't getting any better.
In a Twitter thread, hospital officials said the emergency department at the Montfort Hospital not only reached 'unprecedented levels' this past weekend, but wait times are longer than usual.
The hospital's occupancy rate was at 125 per cent on Jan. 4.
“We remain ready to treat people who need care and, as always, the most critical patients are seen first,” the tweet stated. “As a result, you can expect a longer than usual wait time when visiting the Emergency, if your condition is not severe.”
Hospital officials are asking people to be respectful and courteous when they come to Montfort as staff are doing their best to treat people as best they can.
We owe them a great deal of gratitude and appreciation and they will continue to be the cornerstone of our ability to provide care in the difficult months ahead. When you visit the hospital, please be courteous and respectful to our teams and say thank you.
