Environment Canada issued a winter storm warning, that was lifted earlier today. The capital is expected to received anywhere between 15 and 25 centimetres of snow.
The weather impacted travel plans for many people, while school buses across the capital, Smiths Falls and the Valley were cancelled.
OC Transpo advised riders to expect delays during the weather event. It later tweet that the city's light rail transit (LRT) system, which resumed full service on Tuesday, Jan. 10 after being partially shutdown for almost a week from freezing rain, reported no issues.
During a winter weather parking ban, parking is prohibited on city streets so crews can plow easily and effectively. Vehicles parked on the street during a ban may be ticketed and towed. On-street monthly parking permit holders are exempt from this restriction when they are parked in residential parking permit zones.
