Ottawa Police Service warning of potential vehicle thefts

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is advising people across Ottawa to keep their cars secure after receiving reports from several residents saying the snow from their cars were wiped off in the area where the vehicle identification number (VIN) is located.
The OPS said while these vehicles were not stolen, it is believed that they are being scouted for future thefts.
“Take every precaution to secure your vehicle, including using a vehicle immobilizer, diagnostic port lock, club, parking in a garage, or using another vehicle to block you in,” the OPS said in a Twitter thread.
