Firefighters quickly knock down balcony fire in Beechwood area

A balcony fire was quickly controlled by Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) over the weekend.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters responded to the 200 block of Garneau Street, near Beechwood Cemetery ,where a barbecue had caught fire on a third floor balcony.

The fire was under control within ten minutes of crews arriving on scene and there are no injuries reported.

OFS says a fire investigator will not be required.
