Collins Bay escapee located, back in custody

A convicted murderer who escaped from a Kingston-area prison has been found, and is now back in custody.

Police said that Joshua Kenneth Kohl, 42, escaped from the Collins Bay Institution on Tuesday, May 16.

An OPP spokesperson confirmed to CityNews Ottawa that Kohl had been located after spending the night at-large, and that he was found “not very far” from the prison.

Kohl is serving an indeterminate sentence for second-degree murder. He is now expected to face an additional charge, of being unlawfully at-large.
