Pembroke double homicide believed to be targeted: OPP

Investigators believe a double homicide in Pembroke over the long weekend was a targeted attack.
Shortly before 3 a.m. on Monday, May 22, officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a home on Mackay Street.
Two people were located with life-threatening injuries and one was later pronounced dead in hospital.
A third person was located deceased in the immediate area.
For the safety of the surviving victim, police say no further personal information will be provided.
The investigation into the murders is ongoing and post-mortem examinations have been completed for the victims.
The OPP also says, while it cannot speculate on any potential connections, investigators are in communication with the team investigating a homicide in Renfrew. (link story)
Residents in the area of Mackay Street can expect a large police presence for several more days as the investigation continues.
