Kayaker rescued by OFS near Andrew Haydon Park

A kayaker is safe and sound thanks to Ottawa Fire Services (OFS).

On Tuesday evening, OFS dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a kayaker who was holding onto their boat in an area off Andrew Haydon Park in the west end.

The kayaker said their motor had broken down and they feared the boat would enter the rapids without power.

According to OFS, water rescue technicians quickly helped the boater get back to shore safely.
