Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received numerous calls about flames coming from the back of a townhome residence in Lowertown on Sunday.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. crews arrived at the home on Beausoleil Dr., near King Edward Ave and St. Patrick St., and ensured residents of the adjoining homes were evacuated safely.
Officials say the home was boarded up so firefighters used chainsaws to make their entry into the residence.
The fire was out roughly 30 minutes later and the occupants of the adjoining homes were allowed to return.
In a release, OFS said it’s not yet known if anyone was inside the burning structure at the time of the fire.
