Two more tornadoes reported after massive Ottawa area storm last Thursday

Four tornadoes are now being reported as ‘touched down’ in the Ottawa region during a massive storm last week.

One week ago today, on Thursday, July 13, Environment Canada and the Northern Tornadoes Project said two tornadoes touched down in Barrhaven, which caused damage to at least 125 homes.

After reviewing more data, the project announced that it was, in fact, four tornadoes that caused damage to parts of Ottawa and its surrounding area.

Researchers say two EF-0 storms hit Embrun and Fournier, with the first touching down at 1:17 p.m. while the second hit about 30 minutes later.
