OPP officers in Renfrew arrest man who was breaching release conditions

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual who was breaching release conditions.

On July 24, 2023, Renfrew OPP were notified that an individual had removed a court ordered tracking device from his ankle and fled from a residence on foot.

Officers from the Renfrew Detachment, Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit searched Arnprior and surrounding area but were unable to locate the individual.

On July 25, 2023, officers obtained a warrant and made an arrest.

Marcus Nicholson, 34, of Arnprior was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Mischief- render property dangerous, useless, inoperative, or ineffective
  • Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court – four counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
  • Break, enter a place- commit indictable offence
  • Mischief destroys or damages property

 

The accused was held for bail.
