Montfort Hospital honours the late Gisèle Lalonde with road name

Montfort Hospital officials unveiled 'Voie Gisèle Lalonde', a road honouring the former Vanier mayor who died last summer at the age of 89.

The Montfort Hospital is honouring the late Gisèle Lalonde with a road name.

On Friday, July 28, hospital officials unveiled the road connecting the Aviation Parkway to the Montfort Hospital as ‘Voie Gisèle Lalonde’.

The road name comes one year after the former Vanier mayor’s death at the age of 89.

Lalonde served two terms as the mayor of Vanier in 1985 and 1991 and led a campaign to save the Montfort Hospital from closure.
