TOH General Campus among longest wait times for first assessment by ER doctor in Ontario

The General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital ranks the third worst in eastern Ontario to receive a first assessment from an emergency room (ER) doctor according to new data from Health Quality Ontario.

According to recently releases statistics, the average wait time for a first assessment by a doctor in the ER was two hours in the month of June across the province.

The latest numbers revealed that patients waited an average of 4.1 hours at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital, the longest of any hospital in the National Capital Region.

Here’s data for other hospitals across Ottawa:

  • At the Children’s Hospital Of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), it took an average of 3.5 hours for a patient to receive a first assessment from an ER doctor.
  • It took an average of 3.1 hours for a first assessment by an ER doctor at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
  • At the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital, it took an average of 2.7 hours for a first assessment from an ER doctor.
  • At the Hopital Montfort, it took an average of 2.4 hours for an first assessment from an ER doctor.
