Firefighters respond to blaze at Nepean home that started in an electric skateboard charger

No one was hurt as Ottawa firefighters tackled a fire that started in an electric skateboard charger at a Nepean home on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) said it received a 9-1-1 just before 3:30 p.m. call reporting fire in a detached garage on the 0-100 block of Aldercrest Drive.
According to the OFS, responding firefighters arrived on the scene in three minutes and were able to stop the blaze from spreading to the rest of the home.
All residents were safely evacuated from the home, and the fire was declared under control at 3:53 p.m.
