Firefighters help one person from flipped car in east end of Ottawa

Ottawa firefighters rescued one person after their car flipped off an off-ramp on Highway 174 on Sunday, Sept. 17.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a flipped vehicle at the off ramp of Highway 174 at Montreal Road at roughly 2:45 Sunday morning.
Crews used rescue jacks to stabilize the vehicle and later set up a waku ladder against the vehicle.
Firefighters were able lift the passenger door and safely extricating the driver from the vehicle just after 3 a.m. Thermal imaging camera was used to check the bushes in the surrounding area for any other passengers and none were found.
At approx 02:45 this morning, we responded to the 174E & Montréal Rd after 9-1-1 callers reported a flipped vehicle at the off ramp. Firefighters arrived to find the driver trapped inside & unable to exit. Rescue jacks were used to stabilize the vehicle. A waku ladder was then… pic.twitter.com/2MZWsPPqqs
