Firefighters respond to call of garbage truck crashing into home on Crown Crescent

No one was inside a home in Carlington when a garbage truck crashed into it on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a report of a garbage truck crashing into the side of a home on Crown Crescent just after 4:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Crews confirmed no occupants were inside the home at the time of the incident.
“Our structural collapse team began shoring the home to reinforce the damaged wall after it was discovered multiple studs were knocked off,” OFS said on X. “Fire crews confirmed damage to the windows & siding but no damage to the foundation.”
The driver of the truck was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
At approx 16:17, we responded to the 100 block of Anna Ave for reports of a garbage truck crashing into a home. Upon arrival, it was confirmed the home was in the 0-100 block of Crown Cres.
