Two people charged after OPP officers conduct investigation into drug trafficking in Renfrew

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people following the execution of a search warrant in Renfrew.
On Oct. 19, 2023, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Bank Street South, in Renfrew, as part of a drug trafficking investigation. As a result, two people were arrested and a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, and other drugs were seized. A firearm, ammunition and other weapons, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia were also seized.
Tina Amikons, 46, of Renfrew has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a schedule III substance psilocybin, for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis.
- Possession of a schedule IV substance XANAX for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I substance ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking- other drugs
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Pembroke Court of Justice on Nov. 22, 2023.
Travis Gauthier, 38, also of Renfrew has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a schedule III substance psilocybin, for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis.
- Possession of a schedule IV substance Xanax for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a schedule I substance ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking- other drugs
The accused was held for bail.
