Daytime temperatures to reach 20 C in Ottawa ahead of rapid cool-down

Call it a rare pre-Halloween treat.

While we’re in for a rather wet Friday in Ottawa, we will have the luxury of basking in unusually warm temperatures before much cooler air moves into the region.

The forecasted daytime high is 20 C for Ottawa today, with a humidex value of 25, and an overnight low of 17 C.

However, more seasonal temperatures are coming fast.

Ottawans could wake up to a rain shower or two on Saturday, but the clouds will clear by the afternoon with a daytime high of 12 C and an overnight low of 1 C.

Sunday sees a small chance of showers with a high of 7 C and an overnight low around plus 2 C.

Looking ahead to next week, the forecast highs are between 5-8 C.

For Halloween, the current forecast looks very promising.

Environment Canada is predicting daytime sun and cloud with a high 6 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers for the evening.
