The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Hate and Bias Crime Unit has laid charges against three individuals after an incident of mischief in downtown Ottawa over the weekend.
The OPS said the incident took place on Oct. 29, approximately 8 p.m.
Officers responded after the OPS received a 9-1-1 call reporting three people spray painting anti-Semitic, anti-Black, and anti-2SLGBTQQIA+ symbols on the walls of a parking garage located on the 100 block of Elgin Street.
The three individuals, two of which were young persons, were arrested at the scene.
They are all facing charges of mischief and are expected to appear in court at a later date.
While one individual is an adult, they are not being named to protect the identity of the young persons as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
