Pembroke resident, 30, identified as driver killed in Laurentian Valley Township collision

A 30-year-old from Pembroke has been identified as the person killed in a collision in Laurentian Valley Township.

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a section of TV Tower Road around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30.

According to the OPP, an off-road motorcycle was being driven westbound on the Algonquin Trail when it struck a gated barrier.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle, which continued on before coming to a rest on TV Tower Road.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation continues and a portion of TV Tower Road between Matthews Avenue and Russham Road remains closed.
