The emergency department (ED) at the Almonte General Hospital (AGH) has re-opened.
The hospital’s ED closed temporarily overnight due to a shortage of nursing staff.
The ED closed as of 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 and re-opened at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.
The rest of the hospital was still open and caring for patients during the time of the ED’s closure.
“We know these closures are concerning for our community,” said Mary Wilson Trider, president and and chief executive officer (CEO) of the AGH. “Unfortunately, we are dealing with multiple sick leaves. We are in contact with Ontario Health East Ministry staff to discuss potential solutions.”
