Three people have been charged with theft and possession of stolen property after police responded to a report of shoplifting at a commercial property in Carleton Place earlier this week.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on the scene at a property on McNeely Avenue in Carleton Place just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 to assist with the business’ loss prevention officer with the arrest of multiple theft suspects.

“Further investigation into this occurrence lead to the recovery of over $15,000 worth of stolen property, which also appears to be the result of retail theft,” said the OPP in a news release.

Kacper Ciuron, 24 of Scarborough, Bartlomiej Becmer, 37 and Grecian Goman, 31 both of Mississauga, are all charged with one count each of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All three accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Jan. 8, 2024.
