Police investigating incident of mischief to religious institution in Centretown

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Hate and Bias Crime Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person responsible for an incident of mischief towards a religious institution in the 300 block of Somerset Street West last month.

At approximately 5:10 a.m. on Oct. 22, the suspect attended the front entrance of the building and caused damage to the property.

The suspect is described as a white male, and was last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a baseball cap, and wearing a black backpack.

Anyone who witnessed the mischief or has any information about the incident is asked to call the OPS Hate Crime Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5015. Tips may also be sent electronically to hatebiascrime@ottawapolice.ca.
