The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating after “hateful posters” were seen in the southeast part of the nation’s capital.

The signs dictate racists comments about Arabs and Palestinians and also displays the address and name of an individual. The signs were posted in the South Keys area.

“Our investigation determined that the individual mentioned on the poster was not the creator of the poster and was not involved in its distribution,” said the OPS in a post on X.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and encourage anyone with information to contact police.

Imam Sikander Hashmi of the Kanata Muslim Association shared the sign on social media.

He thanked the OPS for investigating the incident, as “naturally, it caused a great deal of concern.”

Ottawa police confirmed to CityNews that the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
