Ottawa fire crews rescued one trapped person from their vehicle after a collision in the city’s south end over the weekend.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said firefighters responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash in the 4000 block of Bank Street just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and that all occupants had exited both vehicles except one who remained trapped in one of the vehicles.

OFS said used specialized tools were used to open the driver side front and rear doors in order to gain access to the trapped person’s legs. The driver’s seat was moved and the individual was safely extricated at 21:48.

Before leaving the scene, firefighters disconnected the vehicles’ batteries.
