Firefighters respond to abandoned home fully engulfed in flames in Ottawa’s east end

An abandoned structure caught on fire in an area in the city’s east end on Monday.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said multiple 9-1-1 calls were received just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4 with people reporting a structure was on fire near Rothwell Drive and Wick Crescent.

Firefighters confirmed that the structure, which was an abandoned home, was fully engulfed in flames.

OFS said the fire was declared under control at 6:48 p.m. No injuries were reported.
