North Grenville OPP catch impaired driver with ignition interlock device unplugged

One person is facing multiple charges after a Festive RIDE stop in Merrickville.

The North Grenville detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a driver around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1.

Police say the driver was waving an Ignition Interlock Device out the window, stating he was “good to go.”

However, according to the OPP, the device was not connected.

Police also discovered open beer and suspected cocaine in the vehicle and say the person was driving while prohibited.

The driver faces multiple charges, including impaired operation.
