Driver of U-Haul truck crashes into carports in New Edinburgh

No injuries have been reported after a U-Haul driver drove into carports in the New Edinburgh area over the weekend.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said a structural collapse team was dispatched to the scene at the 100 block of Ivy Crescent at at 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16.

OFS said one carport suffered significant damage and was “being held up by the truck and the neighbouring carport,” OFS said on X.

The neighbouring carport was also damaged.

The OFS structural collapse team shored up the two carports to provide enough support to remove the truck. A City of Ottawa building services representative was on the scene as well.
