Ottawa firefighters quickly knock townhouse fire in Nepean

There are no injuries reported following a townhouse fire in Nepean.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a home on Woodfield Drive, near Merivale Road, shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Several callers to 9-1-1 reported that an end unit townhome had flames and thick black smoke coming out the front door.

A working fire was declared before crews arrived on scene, which was within four minutes of being dispatched.

OFS says the fire was knocked down very quickly and deemed under control by 22:15 p.m.

An Ottawa Fire Investigator has been dispatched to the scene to determine the origin and cause.
