Ottawa firefighters quickly contain garage fire in Stittsville

No injuries were reported following a garage fire in a two-storey single family home in the capital’s west end Tuesday.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) were on scene at about 11:51 a.m. on Tuesday after 911 callers reported black smoke coming from the garage of a home on the 0-100 block of Caribou Avenue in Stittsville.

Fire crews confirmed the fire was in the garage and brought it under control 16 minutes after arriving on scene.

Firefighters said all the occupants had escaped the building safely before their arrival.

Currently, an Ontario Fire Investigator is on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
