2 arrested during traffic stop turned drug bust west of Kingston

Police lay drug charges against two people Tuesday morning in a township west of Kingston.

The Lennox and Adding County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped two vehicles on Bath Road in Loyalist Township around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Police said one tried to flee the scene but got stuck in a guardrail.

Police searched the vehicle and said they found an unspecified amount of meth and cocaine.

Samantha Lefebvre, 31, from Loyalist Township and Joshua Trousdale, 29, of Greater Napanee were each charged with two counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Lefebvre was also charged with use plate not authorized for vehicle and operate motor vehicle without insurance. Trousdale was charged with dangerous operation.

Both were released from custody.

They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on February 13, 2024.
