Police seize drugs, cash and vehicle in Rockland trafficking investigation

Four people from Rockland have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation that began last year.

On May 31, 2023, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed search warrants at three different residences in Rockland and the investigation remained ongoing.

The warrants resulted in the seizure of the following items:

  • Suspected cocaine,
  • Speed pills
  • Crack cocaine
  • Hydromorphone pills
  • Paraphernalia with an estimated value over $60,000
  • Large amount of cash
  • 2021 Ford Bronco
  • “Other items typically associated with drug trafficking”

Four individuals were arrested and face the following charges:

Marc Bergeron, 51, of Rockland:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Fanny Menard, 30, of Rockland:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

Eric Mercier, 40, of Rockland:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine – three counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Traffick in Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada

Luc Viau, 60, of Rockland:

  • Traffic in Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Other drugs
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada

The accused were to appear at the L’Orignal Court of Justice at a later date.
