Drunk driver arrested after 2 vehicle crash

Police arrested and charged a man for drunk driving after a two vehicle collision in a town southwest of the capital on Monday.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they were called to a crash on Dundas Street West at Cherrywood Parkway in Greater Napane around 10:00 p.m.

Emergency crews were already on scene treating both drivers for minor injuries.

Police said the crash happened between a sedan and a hatchback.

The hatchback’s driver, Stephen Park, 46, of Frankford was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired with alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus
  • Dangerous operation
  • Driving while under suspension

Park was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Jan. 30.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Ottawa police charge an average of two people a day for drunk driving.
