Police looking for suspect in residential building arson investigation

The Ottawa Police Arson Unit is asking the public for help identifying an individual involved in an arson incident in January 2024.

The act took place in the 300 block of Main St. on Jan. 23, 2024 shortly after midnight.

Police say the suspect approached a residence around 12:10 a.m. and threw a homemade device intended to set fire upon impact to the building.

They left the area on foot seen wearing a red jacket.

Security footage shows they appeared to be carrying a duffel bag and while wearing a white face mask.
