23-year-old Kingston resident facing several charges after attacking ex-partner, roommate

Kingston police said they made an arrest after an assault against two people happened in the city’s west end.

Police said they responded to an assault call at around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday at a residence on Kingsdale Avenue.

According to police, earlier in the day the accused got into an argument with their ex-partner, who was now living with a roomate.

Police said during the argument, the victim fled to their roommate’s bedroom, followed by the accused who attacked the roommate unprovoked.

The accused then allegedly pushed their ex-partner to the ground and punched them before fleeing the residence.

The roommate went to a local hospital where police said they needed “significant medical care”.

Police found and arrested the 23-year-old suspect and charged them with aggravated assault, assault, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and five counts of breaching probation.

Police are withholding the accused’s name to protect the identity of the victims.
