Ottawa police seeking South March store thief

Police are asking the public for help finding a man involved in a series of commercial thefts in the city’s west end.

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says between Jan. 24 and Feb. 2 the man targeted numerous stores on March Road.

Police say during each theft he asks to see an item from behind the counter then takes off with it when he has it in hand.

Investigators describe the suspect as having a thin build with dark hair and facial hair. Police say he may speak with an accent.

Police ask anyone with information on the man’s identity to call the OPS West Criminal Investigations Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 2666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
