Wednesday is Valentine’s Day, the annual celebration of love and friendship marked by both couples and critics who hate its commercialization.

Here are a mix of paid and free events that can help spark plans on what to do:

Environment Canada forecasts that Feb. 14 will be chilly, with a high of -5 C and the wind chill making it feel like -20 C in the morning and -11 in the afternoon. While it will start cloudy, Valentine’s Day will be a clear, sunny day starting at noon.

CHL Valentine’s Day deal

If you’re a hockey fan, the Ottawa 67’s are offering a Valentine’s Day only deal to attend Wednesday’s game when they take on the Kingston Frontenacs at TD Place.

It’s buy-one-get-one free for sections 12, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27.

Tickets have to be purchased in pairs, with a maximum of eight total.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
