Police investigating ByWard Market shooting

OPS are investigating an early morning shooting that happened in the city’s downtown core.
Police say they responded to a shooting in the 100 block of George Street at around 3 a.m. on Monday. A victim was found with gunshot wounds and brought to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This is the second shooting within the city in less than a week.
Police are also investigating a shooting in the city’s east end that happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of St. Joseph boulevard.
Officers say they found a victim at the scene with critical but not life-threatening bullet wounds.
Emergency crews brought the victim to hospital.
Police say they found casings nearby and witnesses reported seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
