Rideau Canal Skateway closes for the season

That’s a wrap on the 54th season of the Rideau Canal Skateway.

The National Capital Commission (NCC) closed the skateway at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb, 25.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the Skateway, and a shout out to our concessions and hard working crews who made the most of challenging weather conditions. See you next winter,” wrote the NCC on X.

The skateway has only been open for 10 days this year, after remaining closed for the entire season last year.
