Provincial police have charged two men after a theft investigation in a township south of the capital.

OPP officers say they were patrolling in the Landsdowne area of Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township just before 2 a.m. on Feb. 25 after several reports of ‘suspicious activity’.

Police say they found two men who were carrying copper wire and tools used to obtain it on them.

Police arrested two men from Kingston, ages 53 and 45, and charged them with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both individuals were released with a scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on April 5.
