Spring-like weather arriving in Ottawa by the end of the weekend

It’s going to feel more like winter to start but spring-like weather is set to arrive in the nation’s capital by the end of the weekend.

Environment Canada is forecasting a mix of sun and cloud for Friday, March 22 with a high minus 4 C, compared to the average for this time of year which is around 4 C.

Periods of snow will begin this evening with the weather agency calling for about 2 cm and an overnight low around minus 8 C.

Light snow will continues into Saturday, with another 2 cm forecast.

The snow is expected to taper off in the late morning, with a mix of sun and cloud for the afternoon and a high 1 C.

Things start to warm up Sunday with sunshine and a high 5 C and that sunshine will stick around Monday with a high 9 C.

The temperature is expected to be between 6-7 C for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
